It’s finally time to check off United Arab Emirates from our bucket list! Modern cities, with of course, Dubai and Abu Dhabi at forefront, which are still filled with rich history and permeated with fragrances of perfumes and spices.
We thought about the Emirates for a good time now, but we always choose other destinations. A good year ago, we even bought ourselves a Lonely Planet, but until now it was only sitting on the shelf and served as an excellent dust catcher 😁
This time, we got lucky! Trip to the Emirates will be (almost) free! Yes, you read it right! The Kompas travel agency organized a photo contest and Saša’s photo brought us the win and consequently the main prize → airplane tickets and accommodation in Ras Al Khaimah for two! Over there we will discover all the sights and the atmosphere of the cities by ourselves – as we are most accustomed to.
And where is Ras Al Khaimah? It is the northernmost emirate, which is enjoying big growth over the past decades and is more than 100 km or 1,5 hours’ drive from Dubai.
So, at the end of November, we are going on a week-long vacation on Arabian Peninsula, where we will be enjoying on beaches in Ras Al Khaimah, walk between ultra-modern skyscrapers in Dubai and admire the beautiful Sheikh Zayed mosque in Abu Dhabi.
